Blue topped bin is for recyclable items only.

They are collected on alternate weeks.

NEW! Household bulky items collection service

Our new household bulky items collection service applies to normal household furniture and electrical equipment only, not DIY waste, such as plasterboard or rubble.

How it works:

1. First, check the below list, to ensure your items are ‘included’ in our collection service, as exclusions apply.

2. Contact us to book a collection. You can do this using our online form. Alternatively you can email or phone us – see below for contact details. We’ll check to see if a local charity may be interested in reusing any items first. If so, we’ll put you in touch with them first as they may pick up for free.

3. We collect up to three items for a flat fee of £75. Any additional items are charge at £5 each, up to a maximum of 8 items in total, ie the maximum of 8 items = £100 charge.

4. If you wish us to go ahead, we’ll make a booking for you.

5. Any additional small electrical items or bagged textiles will be collected for free after an order for household bulky items collection is made.

6. Items must be left outside your property on the day of collection.

Please note: Only items declared at the point of booking will be collected.

* Two table chairs/stools, ie dining or kitchen chairs and stools, count as one item.

** Garden waste – please sign up for our fortnightly garden waste collection service.

Examples of charges – A dining table and six dining chairs it will cost £80 to collect.  (Dining chairs are smaller so we count two as one item, so six dining chairs = 3 items, plus the table is one extra item).  Or a three piece suite will cost £75 as there are three items.

Free collection of small electricals and textiles – Once you’ve made a booking for a household bulky items collection, we are happy to collect any bagged unwanted:

  • textiles such as clothes, towels and bedlinen – but not quilts, duvets or pillows
  • shoes, boots, belts and handbags
  • small electrical equipment such as irons, kettles, shavers, toasters, telephones or hairdryers.

These items should not be placed in normal household bins, so please use this collection service instead. Simply bagged them up in carrier bags. No limit applies.
